I'm Sanam Azeem and I'm living my dream.

I get to do what I love everyday.  I'm a dancer, actress, host/emcee, and a community servant.  First woman to win the Mrs. Pakistan International pageant in 2013.  First South Asian to enter the Mrs. International pageant in 2013 and make it to the top five (2nd Runner Up) out of 70 Queens from around the world.  My troupe, Sanam Studios Dancers, perform Pakistani regional dances for audiences worldwide.  Our troupe, like America, is a melting-pot of dancers who come from rich cultural backgrounds and together we act as a bridge between the American and Pakistani cultures.

I'm a mother, wife, and a volunteer at heart.  My family, my passion for acting & dance, and my love for helping those in need, keep me busy - very busy.   When I'm not doing industrial videos, commercials, hosting an event, or dancing professionally with my troupe, I'm spending quality time with my family and busy helping communities both locally and globally.

I'm a staunch believer in helping both locally and globally. In addition to helping girls go to school in Pakistan,  I've consistently help and support local organizations in Atlanta, including, The Atlanta Community Food Bank's project 'Kids In Need'. They have a FREE store for Atlanta school teachers who are able to come by and pick up FREE school supplies for the Atlanta school children who otherwise wouldn't be able to afford it.  I help keep the FREE store stocked with school supplies by collecting from supporters throughout the year.  I help run campaigns for Atlanta's homeless by supporting Hosea Home for the Hungry, as well as Marietta-based, Simple Needs GA.  A wonderful organization helping families coming out of homelessness.

I'm very involved with the local Pakistani American community of Atlanta.  As one of their volunteers, I help promote our culture to all Americans and act as a bridge to help promote peace and understanding between our cultures.

I'm a proud Pakistani by birth and and American by choice.  I'm also proud of all the other bits and pieces that I have in my genes -  a proud Persian, a proud Indian,  a proud North African, even a proud (gulp) Neanderthal.  I enjoy genetic history.

Can't complain, life is good. If I had to choose one thing that made all this happen, I would say it was EDUCATION.  I would not be able to live my dream without an education.

Shouldn't all women live their dream?

There are too many children, especially girls without an education in this world. These girls can't read, write or earn an income. They can't help support their families, make intelligent health choices for themselves or their children and they can't become leaders in their communities or their nation - unless they receive an education.

Women and girls need to get an education, to become productive members of their society and reach their full potential.

I'm enjoying helping their dreams come true.  Life is so much better, when you give back...xo

I was approached by a friend in Atlanta who insisted that I should try out for the first ever, Mrs. Pakistan International pageant.  I was already involved with promoting girls education in Pakistan and thought, this might be a great way to spotlight and share the importance of sending girls to school with people worldwide.  So, with that in mind, I entered the pageant and won in 2013.  I spent 2013 & 2014, making countless appearances at events, speaking, raising awareness and resources for girls education in Pakistan.  I partnered with a wonderful U.S. based organization called 'Developments In Literacy' and became the official Ambassador for Girls Education In Pakistan.  Rated 5-star by Charity Navigator,  Developments In Literary or DIL has 180 schools in Pakistan providing education and life skills to women and children.  As the official Ambassador for DIL, with the help of the Atlanta Chapter of DIL and support from the Atlanta community as well as well wishers everywhere, I was able to send hundreds of girls to school in Pakistan, who otherwise would have simply sat home, wishing to attend.  Typically, beauty Queens move on with other things once their reign is over- but, educating girls is a lifelong passion for me and I can't imagine life otherwise.  I'm now more active than ever, helping girls go to school in Pakistan.
